Serving over 88 million passengers in 2019, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the second-busiest airport in the U.S.
With services to nearly 90 international destinations, it’s no wonder that LAX has 20+lounges within the terminals. These include domestic and international carriers (such as Delta and United) and major international carriers (like Qantas and Emirates).
Our post on the best cards that give complimentary lounge access details how to access U.S. and international lounges for free, with access to many of the LAX lounges detailed below.

Connecting Between Terminals for Lounge Access
Lounges for most of the major international carriers are located in the International Terminal B. If you’re connecting from a domestic flight arriving at Terminals 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8, then you will be able to remain within the secure area to connect to the International Terminal.
Terminals 1 and 3 are connected to the International Terminal via the new Delta Sky Way, so you can now walk inside the secure area without re-clearing security. Alternatively, you also have the option to ride the airside shuttle bus that connects the International Terminal to Terminals 2 and 3. Both of these options are available to passengers that are not required to collect checked luggage in between flight connections.
Terminals 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are connected via airside walkways so passengers can freely move between these terminals to utilize available lounges.
Hot Tip: If you’re headed to LAX soon, our helpful guide offers how to get between terminals at Los Angeles International Airport.

Final Thoughts
Of the 20+ lounges at LAX, only a handful allow passengers to purchase a day pass, with 1 of them (Alaska Lounge) admitting passengers traveling on any airline. Others require a same-day boarding card with a particular airline or at least flying with a contracted partner.
The choice is plentiful for first and business passengers flying on a Star Alliance flight, with lounge access potentially with the operating airline or at the dedicated Star Alliance lounge.
