In a game that is largely about teamwork, you'll want to be sure you and your squad stick together in Warzone 2. That's why, if someone gets taken out by an opponent, they'll get a chance to enter the gulag and fight for an opportunity to respawn. If they fail, though, they'll be dead for good – and then it'll be up to buy their life back so that they can fight alongside you once more.
How to Buy Back Teammates
If your teammate has fallen and then failed to earn a new life through the gulag, you'll need to buy them back via a Buy Station. These stations are located all over the map and can be identified on your minimap as a shopping cart.

In order to buy a teammate back, you'll need to have $4,000 on hand. As long as you have enough money, you can open the Buy Station, select "Redeploy Squadmates", and then choose the squad member you'd like to redeploy. Once you've done so, they'll respawn back into the game from the sky and (hopefully) join you and the remainder of your team so that you can keep fighting together.
