im too stupid to play chess even after i learn everything from chess lesson and completing over 1000 puzzle im still too dumb too play chess, am i really that stupid? does IQ really matter in this game? i always stuck at 800, ive been playing chess for 3 year but now i quit and i will never coming back ever again, this game is giving me a headache

Nobody is too dumb to play chess. Just always check your intended move is no blunder before you play it. Hang no pieces, hang no pawns and you are 1500 overnight. It is a matter of mental discipline.

“You’ll be 1500 overnight”. Really? Do you sell magic weight loss pills too?

Weight loss is a matter of discipline too: eat less, move more.
1500 rating is mental discipline: blunder checking.

Seriously, I started blunder checking more, and look at my recent elo gain, over 200 points in 2 days, I may not agree with Tygxc on some things, but thats one thing they say thats true

He’s right to a point. Definitely not 1500 overnight, but you’ll improve quickly, and I wouldn’t doubt 1000 overnight.

Why do you play chess if it doesn’t result in happiness for you? Win or lose, is no matter if you don’t enjoy the game. If you truly enjoy the game, you’ll improve with practice because you enjoy the effort. It may be slow moving, like my improvement, but over time progress will come.

me too. thats why i stopped playing on Jan 28th (and ive never felt sooo confuzed since).

He joined before 1 hour and closed their account before 45 mins….

I am also dumb at chess. That is why I chose certain openings that do not require a lot of tactics. Most of these are positional openings. I chose English Opening because it is not complicated. You just need to build your pieces, block their pieces, eliminate threats and attacking weaknesses. These things do not require a lot of brain power. Even monkeys can play the way I play today. The only thing you need to learn is how do pieces move and how do they affect each other.

Some people just don't have any talent for the game. Move on, get another hobby.

there are different levels and ratings. that's the point. Stop beating yourself up! the world will do that for free. don't help them!

I used to work with a well known Grandmaster. when he found out that i played chess, he came to talk to me because I had mentioned that I was going to play in the US Open. He asked me what my rating was and I told him. His facial expression changed and he said " Oh? you are no one." and walked away and never spoke to me again.

Being dumb is really hard, but you must also consider all motivations of your actions. It really depends on your self assessment.
