Preliminary (7/12 eps)

Then we have this girl who thinks she is the god odin and announces the end of the world. Spoiler: After this she starts eating ice creams, being adopted without reason by the main character's parents, going to festivals and recording movies for her sister's school.

And i wonder, where does the plot try to direct us? There are 7 chapters and there is almost no indication of a strong story. This girl just appears (and it could be an angel, god, dinosaur, or asocial girl it doesn't matter) and although she warns the protagonist that the world will end, she does nothing more than have ...

Now this review might be a bit based since I'm a sucker for Jun maeda's work. almost all of his works (charlotte, angel beats and now Kamisama ni Natta Hi) always start of with an interesting premise then follow up with a sort of slice of life story introducing some mellow dramatic plot point in between and ending the series of with a somewhat sad ending and this anime for the most delivers to that same formula. It starts of with our dear loli hina barging into the story and declaring she's a god to our dear mc yota narukami and that the world ...

The name Jun Maeda might ring a bell to fans of anime adaptations of visual novels from Key that were popular in the 2000s and early 2010s like Kanon, Air, and Clannad with his involvement in their writing. These titles were well known for having light comedy mixed in with heavy drama, romance, and fantasy elements that pushed things rather heavily with suspension of disbelief. Unfortunately, pushing out the same type of storytelling formula with all your works can lead to audiences tiring of someone’s creative works over time. Such is the case with Maeda’s most recent anime made, The Day I Became a God, ...

I loved it. It was very emotional and refreshing at the same time. I just wish that there were more episodes. This anime was amazing there is no denying that but it could have been even more amazing. I had this issue with Charlotte. He should've done more episodes so we could get more emotional. There is so much potential. But the ending made me cry and I'm happy with the ending. The anime was amazing. Time to wait 5 years for a new anime from my man.

I can understand why some people are upset, even I am upset but at the same time, I'm ...

This anime was such a dumbster fire. It was so trash to the point where I thought Jun Maeda's writing became worse after his surgery. It must have changed him because the script for this anime was horrendous. Let me start with the story.

1/10 - Storytelling/writing
The plot is terrible and trying to copy Clannad's flow. It ended up worse than I imagined. The plot was very generic and predictable and the "plot twist" was very bad because it was seen from a mile away and it didn't feel impactful more like a cryfest. They should've stuck with the world ending scenario, it would've been ...

MAL, of all things, was my first exposure to this anime. I had never heard of it before, and from browsing through the reviews here, I expected a trainwreck. Instead, all I got was another harmless, mediocre show. There's so many of those that have come and gone, that will continue to come and go, that it's weird to single this one out unless you know the context (which you almost certainly do if you're reading this) and how the author not only penned one of the highest rated anime on this site, molded the 'nakige' genre for visual novels and has since become (in)famous ...

Mixed Feelings

A Noble Minded and Valid Attempt, That Fails to Match It's Legacy(SR);

Fall 2020 saw us receive a new Jun Maeda show and with it, much like Charlotte before, we observed two polar opposite responses. Those scoring below a 5 in a wanton effort to ignore the brilliant visuals and musical value of the anime and those going straight for a ten out of ten in an effort to drown out any valid complaints of the story's handling. Today I'd like to take a short look at what 'The Day I Became A God' has to offer (Spoiler sections will be marked as such).

Animations and Music ...

Kamisami ni Natta Hi currently holds the worst rating on my anime list. Never before have I been compelled to give an anime just 1 out of 10, but this took the cake. It is so bad, so chock full of cliche bullshit, so exploitative and just such a poor effort. By the time the last episode rolled around, I was practically laughing my ass off. The 'emotional' moments were so bad they were funny. This also has one of the worst (and most creepy) romances of all time.

Because I hate this anime so much, I will be totally lenient with spoilers. So if you ...

Having watched til episode 9, I do not understand why this anime is being shunned. The artwork is quite good and soundtracks really fit in with the theme. The OP is better than both Charlotte's and Angel Beats's ops.
Yes the the characters are not given as much depth as before. People keep comparing a lot of aspects to other works by Jun but this was a solid experience for me. I went with an open mind. It didn't have the weird super powers or any weird setting. Just a girl who claims to be god.

The world building is nicely done. Some characters have very good ...

Ok so basically I started this anime looking to have a few good laughs and chill and I believe this anime provides an avenue for just that. It is funny, sweet, a little dramatic and also pulls us into a completely different world. It is the kind of anime with multiple plot twists and this is what made me love this anime so much.

The last episode was da bomb. It was the perfect combination of love, drama and emotion. I am cent percent sure that anyone who watched it would have gotten the feels. I think it is highly underrated and so please watch it ...

Oh Jun Maeda, despite our hopes it turns out you have only gotten worse in the last ten years.

Jun Maeda is a fascinating figure in the industry, partially because he worked in the Visual Novel scene for so long before writing anime (he still does technically), but mainly because he is one of the very few anime screen writers known by name outside of Mari Okada and Urobutchi Gen. And for good reason too: Air, Kanon, Clannad, Angel Beats, Little Busters, Charlotte; Jun Maeda is the mind behind some of the most popular and well acclaimed anime of all time. Jun Maeda also composes ...

Kamisama ni Natta Hi is the pinnacle of anime. Coming from the renowned Jun Maeda, the man behind such great shows as Charlotte, Clannad and Angel Beats, Kamisama would undoubtedly go on to become a classic within the anime community. The anime features a complex and unique plot, with characters written so well that you would mistake them to be real people. ...Yeah as if.

To put it bluntly, Kamisama is a disappointment. It is the single worst anime that I have ever watched, and certainly not something I would have expected from Jun Maeda. When I first started the show, I didn't have much expectations ...

This is a series that will be judged on its final act and I can't argue that there is any reason not to. I see harsh opinions and to that too, I have no rebuttal. But the first act left a strong impression on me, and it has carried me to the finale with a positive outlook upon it.

Pain and tragedy are familiar ground in all forms of artistic work, anime without exception and Jun Maeda's body of work is defined by the resolution of tragedy. Perhaps this thread is familiar in Day I Became a God in some regards. But the ground far ...

I came here to warn people about this hoax, but after reading some reviews of my fellow companions, I've decided to keep it short. Shorter..
Don't waste your time. You know that "you should watch it and decide for yourself"? It doesn't apply here. Seriously. I've seen reviews with ratings of 7, 9. even 10!?! WTF?!? It made me think we haven't all watched the same anime. Fortunately, most of the reviewers got it right: 1. And that was a mercy. I gave a rating of 2 'cause I'm a sucker for visuals.(And some of it really caught my eye). But ...

This is my second Jun Maeda anime, the first was Angel Beats, which at least has decent comedy and some heartwarming moments, but Kamisama Ni Natta Hi has nothing good to offer us.

Story (1): This was the worst story of the year. The first half is just boring Sol that at moments I even can't stand it. The second half is some kind of Sci-drama without good background.

Art (3): The art quality is really bad if you compare it with another P.A animes this lack of details and vibrant colors. In animation is really bad too, some movements and sequences lack fluidity, this worries me ...

This review will contain spoilers but I'll try to keep them brief and as minor as possible.

If I really wanted, I could summarize this anime in one sentence. Take all of the romance tropes from the last decade, add some polished art and there's Kami-sama. Now you'd think I'm joking when I say that I expected this to be a Charlotte or an Angel Beats coming from the same author right? No, of course not. This anime is as mediocre as they come. All of the character interactions I found myself cringing at because of how poorly they are done. You have a high schooler ...

GOD DAMMIT

As of 6/12 seen:

This one could be a problem.

Watching a Jun Maeda 1-cour show is like watching a vert skateboarder try to land a 900. It's an awesome trick, it earns a lot of attention, and it will probably look pretty amazing while it's in the air no matter what, and they try this accomplishment over and over, but there's a very good chance that he's going to run out of airtime and fall on his face in a massive disappointment for everybody.

This show's got all the red flags the Maeda fans/prisoners know and love: the 8/10 art/music production quality, the ...

It was really a fun ride. watchers will really enjoy the first six to seven episodes. it is really engaging and entertaining.

However, after some time lapse the whole plot experiences a 180 degree flip.

But overall, it is a really nice show... don't know why many people criticized it. And the ending was really emotional . I found tears running down my eyes at one moment...not because OF sadness, but I was overjoyed and happy.

Also the animation was good.

The ending is really grt.

everyone should watch this anime. if you haven't watched it yet...watch it immediately... otherwise you are missing a masterpiece.

This anime is quite good at art and sound. but in Story is so boring and the goal isn't clear. OK I know it's about End of the world in a month but the action of each character is so cheerful and funny (This Anime is Drama-Fantasy U know?) Why?? Maybe it wants to make Hina's characteristic much clearly but can you care about World's End in a few ...

Spoilers until Episode 10.

When I first started this show, I had zero expectations. There is no source material, so nobody really knows what this show is about. I was willing to go with anything this show will be, romance, sci-fi, fantasy, anything. And now up to episode 10... I still don't know what this show is really about.

Story: 2/10

First of all, there is no "plot" in the first 8 episodes. They're just a series of events just happening for the purpose of "calm before the storm". And it doesn't work. There is no progression, no rising tension. The only progression we got is the countdown ...
