Hi all,
I love the name Ozzy for a boy, but would potentially want a longer name for it. Love Oscar but know too many to use.
Any ideas welcome, in addition to names I would like that are maybe similar.
Current boy names I like:
Dexter
Hugo
Navy
Arlen
August
Sage

I know an Ozzy whose real name is Austin.
OliviaFlaversham · 01/11/2023 19:12
Oswald
I really like August from your list though. I only know one Sage and it is a girl.

I know an Ozzy whose real name is Austin.
I was coming on to say exactly the same

I love the name Austin. There is a mum at our baby group whose baby is just called Ozzy, not short for anything. It suits him.

I didn’t know people name their child based on a nickname before I joined MN. I always thought you name your child what you want and then a nickname comes along naturally!
<completely misses the point>

I know an Ozzy whose real name is Austin.
So do I, wonder if it's the same one 😂
WASZPy · 01/11/2023 19:34
I really like the nn Oggie for August, like the kid in Wonder.
Or Oswin for Ozzy if you don't want Oscar.
Finallygotmy3 · 01/11/2023 19:36
My son is just Ozzy. Although we do call him Oswald a lot which i swore I wouldn't do lol. He also gets Oz. If you love the name Ozzy just go for it, we've had a few raised eyebrows but to be fair, he's not their child and our school has far more 'out there' names than Ozzy.

@exerciseviligance I actually know two Austin/Ozzy’s! One is my dads best friend (about 60) and one is my friend (early 30s) 😊

God I really wouldn’t just call him Ozzy, though it’s a nice nn.
