Synopsis

Vlogging isn't always a walk in the park.

In the summer of 2018, three kid-friendly American vloggers headed into an Australian national park in search of a mysterious, bigfoot-like creature. They were never seen again. Their footage was thought lost. Until now.

' ].join(''); if ( adsScript && adsScript === 'bandsintown' && adsPlatforms && ((window.isIOS && adsPlatforms.indexOf("iOS") >= 0) || (window.isAndroid && adsPlatforms.indexOf("Android") >= 0)) && adsLocations && adsMode && ( (adsMode === 'include' && adsLocations.indexOf(window.adsLocation) >= 0) || (adsMode === 'exclude' && adsLocations.indexOf(window.adsLocation) == -1) ) ) { var opts = { artist: "", song: "", adunit_id: 100005950, div_id: "cf_async_08450c4c-b1ba-48ee-ba71-37d202bd28ab" }; adUnit.id = opts.div_id; if (target) { target.insertAdjacentElement('beforeend', adUnit); } else { tag.insertAdjacentElement('afterend', adUnit); } var c=function(){cf.showAsyncAd(opts)};if(typeof window.cf !== 'undefined')c();else{cf_async=!0;var r=document.createElement("script"),s=document.getElementsByTagName("script")[0];r.async=!0;r.src="//srv.tunefindforfans.com/fruits/apricots.js";r.readyState?r.onreadystatechange=function(){if("loaded"==r.readyState||"complete"==r.readyState)r.onreadystatechange=null,c()}:r.onload=c;s.parentNode.insertBefore(r,s)}; } else { adUnit.id = 'pw-08450c4c-b1ba-48ee-ba71-37d202bd28ab'; adUnit.className = 'pw-div -tile300x250 -alignleft'; adUnit.setAttribute('data-pw-' + (renderMobile ? So because this found footage film has deliberate editing attempting to look like a Youtube video, are we supposed to believe that someone found the footage and decided to edit part of it into a Youtube video? Did the police do that? Was part of the footage intended to be already edited by the characters before they disappeared? When would they have had the time to do that? The edits themselves are so bad that they look like they were made by someone who has never seen a Youtube video and was going off secondhand information. They also felt very aimed at kids, which was confusing, because the jokes that the characters were telling were very adult at times.

The reveal at the very end was so ridiculous that it almost feels like a joke, which left me wondering what the intention of this film was.

So apparently these youtubers disappeared, then someone found their footage years later. And then, that someone, edited it like a youtube video with whooshes, text, like and subscribe notifications and all the fixins.

    Bullroar!

Once they get into the woods though it is absolutely interchangeable with 99.9% of other found footage films.

If you've never seen the Blair Witch then hey I guess this is some kind of a substitute. The ending is the best part and almost makes this completely worth it.

i want there to be more found footage movies. they don't even have to be great, or even good. i'm happy with them being a bit below average, as long as there's some sexy young people lost in the woods and/or night vision cameras, things like that.

i don't ask for much, is all i'm trying to say. i'm a soft touch.

but they can't be this long and boring!

Overall watchable, but essentially a Blair Witch Project xerox with, if we're honest, kinda a joke ending? 90 minutes is a long runtime for a single gag. This should have been a short in an anthology, then it would have been quite funny.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This $50,000 budgeted Australian found footage horror feature from writer/director Frank Maljevac involves a coed trio of annoying American vloggers whose vacation in the wilderness to find a species of Sasquatch(/Bigfoot) turns really bad when the unseen being pursues after them.

Downright slow going and never involving, blandly acted by its small cast and tepidly helmed,OUR TRIP TO BERRIBROOK(which comes replete with the standard grim and bleak finale[that is common in found footage horror films]) is one cinematic vacation that is truly worth avoiding.

The portion in the woods was OK for this type of low budget FF creature movie. The youtube-like add-ons - annoying random sounds - were, well annoying. Watched it for free on Tubi so didn't feel cheated. Not worth seeking out.

Have you ever wanted to watch a found footage movie that’s edited like an obnoxious 2014 YouTuber vlog? Here it is.

For about 25-30 minutes, then it stops abruptly and becomes a typical “young people get lost in the woods” movie.

It seems like the actors had a good time filming this. If only it was as fun to watch.

Unfortunately, they have zero improv skills, but were seemingly given no script and told to make it up as they went along.

It’s total amateur hour fair without a single original bone in its body.

The only entertainment value to be found is the obviously Australian actors trying and failing to sound American.

It’s boring, way too long, and completely devoid of creativity.

I love found footage horror movies. This shows exactly what not to do when making one.

Three vloggers go to Australia to look for some Bigfoot like creature wandering around a national park. They're supposedly Americans and the actor portraying the main vlogger does a pretty good job at an American accent, but the actress playing the girlfriend slips up on the word "been" and the actor playing his friend (a/k/a The Third Wheel) blew it every time he said "no". Those are the ones I caught anyway. It's found footage so blah, blah, no sign of them, found their cameras, here's the footage, blah.

It's actually not horrible. Fairly good premise acting wasn't bad, but I so don't understand filming a movie in Australia, set in Australia, using Australian actors, but having them do an…

YouTube editing effects were the absolute highlight of this.
