What is the difference between VA and Watts in inverters?
Watts is the amount of energy going out, VA is the RMS current multiplied by RMS voltage, which may be a little more or perhaps significantly more than the power figure.
Watts refer to “real power,” while volt-amperes refer to “apparent power.” Both are simply the product of voltage (V) multiplied by amperage (A). Thus, a device drawing 3 amps at 120 volts would be rated at 360 watts or 360 volt-amperes.

Does higher wattage mean higher voltage?
Voltage is the force that makes the current flow. For power tool batteries, higher volts can provide higher capacity and a longer battery life. Watts is the product of amps times volts. It can show you how much energy will be used by an appliance over a period of time.
Using a transformer with a smaller VA capacity than that required by the load will cause the transformer to overheat and eventually burn out, unless a TEMP-GUARD model is used. You can always use a transformer with a larger VA rating than the load requires.
