What is the message of the movie enough?
Morally, although the movie strongly condemns adultery and domestic abuse, Slim's ultimate solution seems to be somewhat humanistic. This humanist worldview goes along with the movie's feminist angle of a woman taking martial arts training to stop her abusive husband.
Plot. Slim is a waitress in a Los Angeles diner where she meets Mitch Hiller, who wards off a rude man trying to hit on her for a bet. They eventually marry, have a daughter named Gracie, and live happily in an expensive house. Years later, Slim discovers Mitch has been repeatedly cheating on her with no remorse.
The main character experience domestic violence in the form of physical and psychological abuse. She struggles to end the domestic violence by finding information about domestic violence, escaping from the perpetrator, and doing a self defense.
The movie is based on the 1998 novel Black and Blue, by Anna Quindlen, which was a New York Times bestseller. It stars Jennifer Lopez as Slim, an abused wife who learns to fight back.
Another customer in the diner was named Mitch Hiller, revealing that the customer had made a bet that he would be able to convince Slim to sleep with him. Soon after, Slim falls in love with and marries Mitch, and they have a child named Gracie (Tessa Allen).
While Slim cuts her hair in order to hide from her abusive husband, Lopez wore a wig. 14. Lopez bonded with her co-star Juliette Lewis while filming, telling E! News, "We had a really great time.
Tessa Allen: Gracie Hiller.
Enough is Apted at his most commercial, and, unfortunately, his least compelling. This is a by-the-numbers thriller that doesn't even succeed on the most basic, visceral level. One can only hope that Apted is taking his salary for this effort and putting it into the next movie in the 7 Up series.
What is a “main conflict”? All movies have multiple conflicts, but the main conflict is the basis of the story. It's the thing the entire screenplay is built on, and creates the throughline or spine that everything else hangs off of.
What is the conflict of the main problem of the story?
The conflict is the problem or challenge that the characters face. Conflict is absolutely necessary for a story because it gives the characters something to overcome and a plot to play out.
Had he actually taken a second to maintain his anger and call the police after knocking Slim out from behind, he might have very well ended up victorious. Instead, he chose to further take out his rage on Slim, which ended up getting him killed.
